Wednesday Wish (42)

When life’s path leads you deep into an unknown forest…

will you remember to listen to the breathing of the trees?

*          *

Your imagination will beg to show you magic…

but will you remember to hush your mind enough to hear her tender voice?

*          *

Will you see with childlike wonder the secrets left for you-- hidden treasures and veiled doorways...

or will the adult in you squelch it all away?

*          *

Will you look up? To discover fresh hope?

 *          *

Will you see the beauty of your scars and the richness of your bruises?

 *          *

And will you, oh, wont you please, leave some of your own magic behind…

for the forest of the gentle trees...

Dear Brynne,
You have left traces of your own magic not only in forests of green but in the forests of grey that surround so many of us. Thank you for that wonderful gift.

Joyce Kilmer couldn't have seen this forest any clearer or described it better ... and her poem "Trees" is one of very few I can recite...

"I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree."

I hadn't thought of trees breathing. But of course they do. Of course.

Yes, I will.

I miss you Brynne, my friend. Which tree are you hiding behind?

Brynne, this post made me smile. You see, just today I took some shots of the forest Roxy and I walk in every day for a post I'm working on. We leave for Spain in a week and I thought it would be great to say goodbye to the forest until we return. I love walking in the forest. I find it energizes me. I start breathing better and my blood pressure immediately seems to normalize. Not to mention how the luscious shades of green stimulate my senses! Loved this post, lady! :)

:) Thanks, Michael.
If you are quiet you really can hear them breathing....it sounds like healing.

angel Debra...I miss you, my friend.

Behind that one, the one with the fluttering leaves. And you? Are you swinging from our favorite cloud? I'll try to meet you there tonight....cupcakes or or chocolate?:)

How serendipitous my dear friend, that you and I should walk within forests, and share the experience with others. 'Though I live on the sea, my heart warms for forests and sun filled glades. My adult self is not allowed inside, but waits patiently outside for my return. There are fairies and pixies within, dragons and quests and the simple beauty of sunlight through leaves, water dripping from a bough, and the quiet murmur of leaves sharing their joy of life, as the breeze caresses and lends it's voice to their song. The magic that dwells within, has its roots within this forest. Thank you for sharing your forest with me.

I know...wasn't that such FUN John?! To walk together and not fully know it until later?:) My heart is of the sea, too...but then forests like ours...oohhh, goodness...talk about magic, no?! You give me smiles!! Thank you, dear friend!
