All too often we forget about the presence of magic in our lives, making our every day heavier than it needs to be. So as much for you as for me, this blog is meant to remind us that magic, in all shapes and sizes, is very much alive--and that sometimes all we have to do is just tweak our vision a bit to recognize it.
(not) Surprisingly, I have dreamed of living in a house like this. I've dreamed of either living in a house like this, natural with curves and obstructions and weird shapes, designed to fit within nature not over it. I've also dreamed of living in Rock, as in a house built back into a cliff face, using as many natural materials as possible, and almost invisible from a distance. Sort of a modern day Anasazi home. I have to live on or near the water, but if I could afford a Pirate ship and a home... it would be something like these.
OoOo...how I love this. I have been aching to reply all day! What FUN! First...I love all your ideas. I want to play that game where one person starts it and the next one continues...there is so much to add to what you have begun here, John! I can't even begin to type all I see in your homes...cant you just visit me as I dream so we can talk about it all there?!! Of course I see all sorts of art everywhere...but not typical paintings on the wall...art like feathers made into special mobiles that tell you when an elfin is near, or a nugget of glass hanging in the window to let eyes see the portal in the tree outside...you know...art like that, and all created by hand, of course.
And as far as your question..ooo...joy! One of mine has always been a cottage by the sea. With shutters that work and lots of stones and definitely peeling blue paint and gobs of plants and a cat, oh, and no dryer so the laundry is hanging out to dry and wild flowers in an old vase on a rough hewn table and maybe a fluffy dog sleeping at my feet...as I write and sip my...um..tea if its morning, wine if its evening. Oh, and did I say there would be a piano? :)
Hey Jo...wanna be neighbors by the sea??! And I'm off to check out that website right now! Being that you live in Hobbit-ville...I am sure you know a lot more about homes like these than this northern chick.:)
